"I had the misfortune to employ Adam Burke in September 2024 because I had a small leak in my porch which was driving me mad. He quoted £8000 which seemed to me astronomical considering that I had been given a rough £10000 quote to re tile the front half of my roof. I was stupid enough to go ahead. They worked at snail pace, my neighbour next door who is a builder commented sarcastically “ They take their time… this kind of job should be done in 1 day”. They took 3 days and on the second day he said it would be £12000 and I had no option but to accept. Altogether they replaced 2 tiles because some days previously a young and ignorant roofer had installed 2 unnecesary vents and the water was coming through one of them. So A. Burke got rid of the vents and patched the membrane where it had been pierced. The scaffolding they used was the kind that painters use, on wheels, took minutes to assemble. I am also aware that they put some insulation above porche at my request. I don’t know what else they did. He told me many times that he was not only the best roofer around, that the work was guaranteed for 3 years, that his word was sacred and was the basis of his successful business. I called them some 6 months later because the leak continued and they kept saying that it was the moss accumulating in the valleys. The young Adam Burke came back once or twice to clear the moss. In September 2025 I had the roof cleaned professionally and not a speck of moss was left on the roof. But the leak continued. When I called them in March 2026, that is, 18 months after the repair, they said they were fully booked until October but they would try to come. Nothing happened. I kept calling and got same reply. The last time I contacted them was 6-7 weeks ago but they never replied. All this is easily verified because all our communications were via WhatsApp. I’ve been left feeling having been taken to the cleaners. My experience with Adam Burke senior is that he behaved towards me dishonestly and he lied about the guarantee. I was left feeling ripped off. Not even a competent roofer. His prices are astronomically inflated, if things go pear shaped he won’t honour the guarantee. After knowing the level of his dishonesty, I doubt the veracity of all these wonderful reviews he has. Avoid him like the plague. I intend to report him to Trading Standards."
"After discovering an issue days after moving into my new home Adam has visited today and provided solid advice. No charge for his time and we can complete the work ourselves. What a gentleman. He is the only person that has made the effort to visit having contacted a few businesses. Greatly appreciated Adam. Thanks very much. Lorraine and Casey Stewart"
"Fantastic service ! Having been let down by 4 other roofers I wasn't holding out much hope that this would be any different but how wrong I was. Adam responded to my query within a couple of hours and was on site the following morning to fix the problem - turned out to be an issue with the chimney valley. He's genuine, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. He'll certainly be our first port of call going forwards."
