"*** AVOID *** I recently engaged Probuild Contracts Ltd for roofing works. I contracted and paid for code 5 lead watergates. Probuild installed zinc watergates (a much inferior and cheaper product with a shorter lifespan). The company charged me the higher lead price whilst providing me with an inferior product and admit this in writing. Probuild also failed to complete the agreed scope of works. Works identified as defective by their own surveyor, Owen, were not replaced (despite being paid for). Additionally, sealant works included in the contract were also omitted on first execution. Probuild have failed to honour the works contracted into and refuse to remedy their failures and/or refund me the cost for the remediation work. The after-care received and lack of accountability has been nothing but extremely poor! A court claim has been filed at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and I note that I am not the first to do so from looking at other reviews! I would also note that Probuild Contracts Ltd is not a registered Scottish company. The legal entity is Roof and Build Group Ltd (Company No. SC668168). Based on their latest accounts, Probuild / Roof and Build Group are trading insolvent with disclosed net liabilities over 50k in the red, rendering any guarantees they provide worthless. Potential customers should satisfy themselves as to the identity and financial standing of the contractor before proceeding but by far, the worst contractor that I have ever had the misfortune of working with - *AVOID*"
